The Tour - Chapter 15

Toward the end of the pregnancy, we took a tour of the hospital so that we could see where things were and what we were supposed to do.  It was very informative for us and we enjoyed it even though we knew it was going to be a difficult time.

Lessons Learned

  • If your baby is anencephalic, touring the hospital before delivery is a great idea. Be specific with the those who are showing you around.  How does the hospital handle situations similar to yours? Do the doctors and nurses taking care of you know beforehand what is happening?  How does the hospital tell them? If you read the chapter The Nurse a couple of chapters later, you will find a great idea that our hospital used.
  • If you know someone who has a baby that will be born without a brain, you can just pass on this idea to them.
  • Scripture Promise: God promises that He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless. Even youths will become weak and tired, and young men will fall in exhaustion. But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. Isaiah 40:29-31
